Landlocked Nemesis

IMG_5197.JPG

My roots are in New Hampshire (Live Free or Die for life) where pretty solid to okay landlocked salmon fishing exists. Ever since I started fly fishing the upper Connecticut River in Northern New Hampshire, I could not for the life of me connect with a decent landlocked. Multiple years of fish 10" or under, frustration, and resent. Finally, in July of 2018, I hooked up with a somewhat respectable fish. This guy crushed a size 12 stimulator in fast current a proceeded for take off, putting on the aerial show and making the runs that these fish are known for. Landing this fish felt good, a nemesis no more.

The solo river selfie - nailed it.
